✏️ How to Use the Editable Sight Word Centers: Paint Palette Matching Activity

Introduce the focus words and model the matching routine.
Students choose a palette and read the word in the center.
They find the paint blots displaying the same word, read each word aloud, and place the pieces over the corresponding colored spaces.
Extend the activity by building the word with magnetic letters or writing it on the included recording page.

🎨 More Ways to Play

Clothespin matching: Glue each blot onto the top of a clothespin’s gripping end. Students squeeze the handles to clip the matching blot onto the palette.
Sensory bin search: Partly bury loose laminated blots in shredded paper. Students uncover, read, and match the pieces. Add easy squeeze tongs for picking them up.
Name recognition: Enter student names and sort the matching name blots onto their palettes.
Alphabet matching: Practice identical letter matches or pair uppercase palettes with lowercase blots. For matching across cases, print separate uppercase and lowercase pages and combine the pieces.
Number recognition: Match numbered blots to numeral palettes. Extend with counting by placing the matching quantity of classroom counters beside each palette.
