The Phonics Letter of the Week MEGA BUNDLE provides a comprehensive collection of printable activities for teaching the alphabet and letter sounds from A to Z.
Each Letter of the Week packet includes 30 games, literacy centers, readers, crafts and worksheets. Children practise uppercase and lowercase letter recognition, correct letter formation, sound identification, beginning sounds, handwriting, vocabulary, CVC words and early reading.

Each Letter of the Week packet includes the following 30 activities.
Alphabet Posters, Flash Cards and Mats
- 1. Poster with correct letter formation
Displays the uppercase and lowercase focus letter with clear formation guides. Print, laminate and display the poster in your classroom. - 2. Poster with CVC words
Displays 10 CVC words that begin with or contain the focus letter. Print and laminate the poster for a classroom display or file folder word wall. Some vowel units contain fewer words or different word patterns. - 3. Flash cards with correct letter formation
These cards show the correct formation of uppercase and lowercase letters. Use them as flash cards, tracing cards or classroom posters. - 4. Play dough mat with correct letter formation
Children use play dough to build the uppercase and lowercase letters. This activity reinforces letter formation while developing fine motor strength. - 5. Write and wipe cards with correct letter formation
Children practise forming the letters repeatedly with a dry erase marker. Print, laminate and cut the cards apart. They can also be secured together with a key ring or pipe cleaner. - 6. Write and wipe letter mat
Children trace the uppercase and lowercase letters, practise a vocabulary word and read five CVC words that begin with or contain the focus letter. Print and laminate the mat for repeated use.
Vocabulary and Literacy Center Activities
- 7. Vocabulary cards and Write the Room activity
Each set includes 18 vocabulary cards with words that begin with the focus letter and nine cards with words that contain or end with it. Use the cards for vocabulary instruction, phonics sorting, matching games or Write the Room. - 8. Sound Hound center activity
Children say each picture name and identify whether the focus sound appears at the beginning, middle or end of the word. They then place the card under the matching head, tummy or tail section of the dog and complete the accompanying worksheet. - 9. Build a Sentence center
Children select a picture card, place it on the sentence frame and read the predictable sentence aloud. A recording page is included for written follow up practice.

Children practise reading focus letter vocabulary and simple sentence patterns. Recording sheets are also included. - 11. Activity mini book
This foldable mini book includes letter identification, beginning sound and letter tracing activities. - 12. Alphabet reader
Children read predictable sentences containing common sight words and simple words that begin with the focus letter. Black and white and colour versions are included. - 13. Missing letter cut and paste reader
Children complete each word by cutting and pasting the correct uppercase and lowercase letter pair. They then read the sentence on each page. - 14. Picture scramble cut and paste booklet
Children cut apart the picture tiles and arrange them to build words. Afterwards, they colour the word, trace it and write it independently.

Children identify where the focus sound appears in each word, think of additional words containing the sound and read five CVC words. - 26. Alphabet reading strips with CVC words
Children read predictable sentences using the pattern, “… is for…” Picture cues support each vocabulary word. These strips are included for consonant letters. - 27. Reading page and nursery rhyme letter hunt
Children trace the vocabulary words, identify the lowercase focus letter and then locate uppercase and lowercase letters in a nursery rhyme. - 28. Build a Sentence cut and paste worksheets, set of five
Children read a simple sentence, arrange the cut apart words in the correct order, rewrite the sentence and colour the picture. These worksheets use the same sentence patterns as the alphabet reader.
Alphabet Crafts

Children complete the crown as an “I know the letter” achievement activity. They cut out the crown, add the beginning sound pictures and attach the included tracing strips to form the headband. - 30. Alphabet craft templates

✏️ How to Use the Letter of the Week Activities
Begin each new letter with the formation posters, flash cards and sound activities. Model the focus sound and practise saying the vocabulary words together.
Next, children can rotate through the play dough, write and wipe, Sound Hound, Write the Room and Build a Sentence centers. Use the mini books and alphabet readers during small group reading or independent practice.
Finally, reinforce learning with handwriting, letter recognition, beginning sound and CVC word worksheets. The homework and reading pages can also be sent home for additional practice.
The activities can be selected to match your existing phonics scope and sequence. You can use them when introducing a new letter or revisit them later for consolidation and intervention.
