April Morning Tubs Fine Motor and Cutting Practice:
- April picture punch cards (5 cards) SUPPLIES NEEDED: hole puncher. Using a hole puncher, children are required to punch out the indicated picture.
- April cutting practice (8 cards) SUPPLIES NEEDED: scissors. Using a pair of scissors, children are required to cut along the dashed lines.
April Worksheets:
- April dab the mystery picture (5 pages) SUPPLIES NEEDED: dot markers or differently colored round stickers. Using the indicated colored dot markers, children dab the circles to reveal the hidden picture. Alternatively, children can use differently colored round stickers.
- April cotton swab dot painting pictures (5 pages) SUPPLIES NEEDED: q-tips/cotton swabs and poster paint. Children dip the end of the q-tip/cotton swab into some paint and then fill in the small dots of the picture and the word at the bottom of the page.
- April pokey pin/pinning pictures (5 pages) SUPPLIES NEEDED: large push pins, thick foam mat to place under the pinning page, colored paper (optional). Children place the foam mat on the table. Next, they place the colored paper on top of the foam and the activity page on the very top. Children then use the large push pin to make holes in the paper where indicated.
- April sequence and trace the picture (5 pages) SUPPLIES NEEDED: scissors, glue stick, pencil, colored pencils. Children begin by cutting out the pictures at the bottom of the page and then glue them to show the drawing sequence. Next, children trace the image and color it in.
April Morning Tubs Task Cards:
- April lacing cards (5 cards) SUPPLIES NEEDED: shoelace or lacing thread. Children are required to thread the shoelace through the holes.
- April patterns (5 cards) SUPPLIES NEEDED: beads, pipe cleaners. Children copy the pattern on the card by threading the beads onto a pipe cleaner.
- April mazes (5 activity cards) SUPPLIES NEEDED: erasable markers, wiping cloth or small beads. The aim of this activity is for children to trace the path through the maze using an erasable marker.
- April missing color pictures (5 activity cards) SUPPLIES NEEDED: small colored objects such as pom-poms, beads or sequins, fine motor tweezers (optional). Children collect the required colored small objects and then use them to cover the blank circles.
- April play dough pictures (5 activity cards) SUPPLIES NEEDED: play dough. Children get the required colors and then roll out the playdough into rolls (”snakes”) and use them to shape out the indicated picture.
- April building brick pictures (5 activity cards) SUPPLIES NEEDED: 20×20 brick base (preferable transparent), building bricks of various sizes. Children collect the required pieces and then assemble them as shown on the activity card to build the picture.
- April counting cube pictures (5 activity cards) SUPPLIES NEEDED: counting cubes (such as snap cubes or Unifix cubes). Children collect the required pieces and then assemble them as shown on the activity card to make the picture.
- April pattern block pictures (5 activity cards) SUPPLIES NEEDED: pattern blocks. Children collect the required pieces and then assemble them as shown on the activity card to make the picture.
- April pom-pom pictures (5 activity cards) SUPPLIES NEEDED: large pom-poms or buttons. Children collect the required colored pom-poms and then assemble them as shown on the activity card to make the picture.
- April geoboard pictures (5 activity cards) SUPPLIES NEEDED: 5X5 geoboard base, colored elastic bands. Children collect the required colored elastic bands and then assemble them as shown on the activity card to make the picture.
