✏️ How to Use the School Sorting Activities

Choose one activity and place the corresponding sorting pieces in a sensory bin filled with shredded paper, pom-poms, dry beans or another classroom-safe filler. Children search for one piece at a time, identify its color, length, category or shape and place it on the matching mat.

📌 Preparation

Print the mats and sorting pieces on cardstock. Laminate the materials for durability, then cut apart the individual sorting pieces. Place the chosen mats beside the sensory bin and hide the corresponding pieces in the filler. Add child-safe tongs or tweezers for additional fine motor practice.

Sensory bin fillers, containers, tongs and other manipulatives are not included. Always select materials that are appropriate for the age, needs, allergies and sensory preferences of your learners.
