✏️ How to Use the Pumpkin Number Order Activity
- Choose a number-order mat and partly hide its five matching pumpkin circles in a shallow sensory bin.
- Have children find the pumpkins and name each number.
- Arrange the pumpkins on the mat in number order from left to right.
- Point to each number and say the sequence aloud to check.
Begin with numbers 1–5, offering fewer pieces or adult support as needed. Introduce 6–10 when children are ready. For an extra challenge, place both mats side by side and order all ten pumpkins.
The pieces can also be used in an empty tray or directly on a tabletop, making this activity easy to include in your regular math centers.

📌Pumpkin Number Order Activity: Preparation
Print the mats and pumpkin circles on cardstock at Actual Size or 100%. Laminate for repeated use, then cut apart the mats and circular pieces.
Add the matching pumpkins to a shallow bin of suitable sensory filler, such as plain dried chickpeas. Children can collect the pieces with their hands or suitable tweezers or tongs.
