Summer Math Centers for Kindergarten | Morning Tubs / Bins

1. Summer write & wipe number tracing (1-20)

   To prepare the cards for use in a write and wipe center, print, laminate them, and then cut them apart. The intention of this activity is for children to practice correct number formation with a dry-erase marker. The cards can be kept in a book-like format by punching a hole in the top left corner and securing the cards together with a key ring or a pipe-cleaner.

2. Summer count and write (teen numbers)

   To prepare the cards for use in a write and wipe center, print, laminate them, and then cut them apart. The aim of this activity is for children to count the items on the card. They will then their answer in the circle provided.

3. Summer missing numbers number lines (1-10 and 11-20)

   To prepare for use, print the pages, laminate them for durability and then cut along the dashed lines. Glue the number circles onto the end of household clothes pegs. The aim is for children to identify the missing numbers and place the correct circles in the empty spaces to complete the number sequence.

4. Summer skip counting by 10s, 5s and 2s number lines

5. Bucket and sea shells number match (1-20)

   To prepare the cards for use, print, laminate and cut out all the cards. The aim is for children to match the different number representations on the shells to the correct bucket.

6. Summer greater than, less than, equal to (1-100)

   To prepare this activity for use, print and laminate all the cards and reindeer signs. The aim is for children to identify which number is greater, which is less or whether they are equal and to clip a peg to show their answer.

7. Fish addition match (1-20)

   To prepare the activity for use, print, laminate and cut out all the cards. The aim is for children to work out the addition sentence on each fish and sort it to the fish bowl with the correct sum.

8. Ice cream subtraction match (0-10)

   To prepare the activity for use, print, laminate and cut out all the cards. The aim is for children to work out the subtraction sentence on each ice cream scoop and sort it to the ice cream cone with the correct difference.

9. Summer count graph write & wipe

   To prepare this activity, print and laminate the cards. The aim is for children to count and represent their findings on the graph by coloring the appropriate number of squares with an erasable marker or crayon.

10. Summer sunglasses shape match (2D and 3D)

    To prepare this activity, print the sunglasses, laminate them for durability and then cut them apart. The aim of this activity is for children to identify each shape and match it to the correct name.

11. Popsicle time match (hour and half past in analog, digital and word formats)

    Print, laminate and cut out the cards. The aim of this activity is for children to match the different time formats.

12. Build a summer pattern (AB/ABB/AAB/ABC)

    To prepare for use, print and laminate all the pages. The aim of this activity is for children to build a pattern following the example from one of the cards. They then need to decide which picture goes in the empty square to complete the pattern.

13. Sorting by Seasons

    Print, laminate and cut out the pieces. The aim is for children to sort the picture cards to the correct season mats.

14. Summer measuring length

    To set up for use, print and laminate the cards for durability, then cut along the white lines to separate the cards. Print and laminate the measuring strips. The aim is for children to use the strip of sea shells to measure along the arrow from one line to the other line. You can use other items such as coins, small erasers, tokens and counters, etc.

15. Summer What weighs more? cards

    Print, laminate and cut out the cards. The aim of this activity is for children to determine the object that weighs more and clip a clothes peg to show their answer.
