The Alphabet Wheels | Beginning Sounds packet includes a set of 26 alphabet wheels in black and white, with a colored cover option for each letter provided at the end of the unit. Each wheel features the upper and lower case letters along with three beginning sounds pictures, with the words for each picture written underneath.
Directions for Use:
For optimal durability, print the alphabet wheels on card stock.
Assembling the Wheels:
- Cut out the two alphabet wheels (the front one and the one featuring the three smaller pictures).
- Carefully cut out the designated section on the front wheel. This step might require some adult assistance as it can be challenging for smaller hands.
- Use a paper fastener or brad to secure the two wheels together at the center.
Optional Craft Activity:
Enhance this activity by allowing children to paint and decorate the front wheel using various craft supplies.
Children will enjoy reading the words that appear in the cut-out window as they spin the wheel, exploring both upper and lower case letters, as well as beginning sounds pictures.
