Groundhog Day Centers for Preschool | Morning Tubs / Bins

1. Groundhog fine motor practice mat

   To prepare the mat for use, print and then laminate it for durability. You will need to supply children with pom-poms, gems, beads, beans or any other small objects that will fit inside the circles.
   Children will place a small object in each of the circles.

2. Groundhog beginning sounds match (13 pages)

   To prepare the activity for use, print and then laminate the pages for durability. Cut out all the pieces.
   Children will match the beginning letter sounds to the groundhog pictures.

1. Groundhog number match (numbers 1-10)

   To prepare the activity for use, print and then laminate the pages for durability. Cut out all the pieces.
   Children will match the circles to the correct numeral.

2. Groundhog and hat shape matching (3 pages)

   To prepare the activity for use, print and then laminate the pages for durability. Cut out all the pieces. Attach velcro on top of the empty hat and to the back of each hat cut out.
   Children will match the hats to the correct groundhog shape.

3. Groundhog and hat shape matching (4 pages)

   To prepare the activity for use, print and then laminate the pages for durability. Cut out all the pieces. Attach velcro on top of the empty hat and to the back of each hat cut out. Children will match the coloured hats to the matching groundhog.

4. Groundhog shadow matching

   To prepare the activity for use, print and then laminate the pages for durability. Cut out all the pieces.
   Children will match the different groundhog cards to their matching shadow cards.

5. Groundhog Day patterns (AB)

   To prepare the cards for use, print, laminate them for durability and then cut them apart. Attach the pictures cut out from the bottom of the page to the end of a clothes peg using a hot glue gun.
   Children will identify the pattern on the cards and to clip the correct picture in the empty box to complete the pattern.
