Sight Word Read & Trace Readers: Pre-Primer Sight Words

This digital download contains 40 pre-primer sight words booklets intended to for use with children in Preschool and Kindergarten (Prep). The booklets provide children an opportunity to practice reading sight words in context and to help build confidence and develop fluency. The text follows a predictable pattern and is supported by images, making them an ideal tool for emergent readers. Each booklet builds on the sight words learnt in previous books; for this reason, it is recommended that you introduce the sight words in the order that they are presented in this book. (Please note: the first two books are NOT written in complete sentences.)
Directions for use
To assemble the booklets, print the pages you wish to use, cut them in half and staple together.
Children will color the pictures and then to trace the sight word in focus on each page. They can then have fun reading their booklets to friends and family, if it is to be sent home.
The read and trace readers can be used while working with the entire class, in small groups, or one-on-one with individual children. They can also be assigned as homework for additional practice to reinforce words learnt in the classroom.
