✏️ How to Use the My Family Book
Choose the pages that best match your children’s writing abilities and family experiences. Introduce each topic through a class discussion before children begin working.
Kindergarten children can draw their responses, add labels, copy family members’ names, dictate their ideas, or use beginning spelling. First grade children can write words, phrases, or complete sentences more independently.
After completing and coloring the pages, children can cut around the dotted outlines. Arrange the finished pages behind the cover, then staple or bind them together to create an individual My Family Book.
📄 Preparation
Choose either the American or Australian spelling version of the At Home page. Print the selected pages on white paper. For a sturdier book, print the cover on cardstock.
Children can complete the pages before cutting and assembling their books. Adults may assist children who need additional support cutting around the shaped outlines.
