✏️ How to Prepare and Use the Autumn Pegboard Patterns
Print the mats on US Letter paper and laminate for repeated use. Provide a square pegboard with at least 10 rows and 10 columns and colored pegs that fit the board.
- Children choose a picture and copy the colors and positions onto their pegboard.
- Place pegs in the spaces shown by large circles and leave the small black-dot spaces empty.
- Compare the completed picture with the mat and adjust as needed.
Place the mat beside the board for children to copy, or underneath a compatible clear pegboard. For the underneath option, test one page at 100% print size and adjust the scale until the holes line up with the grid. Mats used beside the board do not need to match its physical size.
🌻 More Ways to Use
- Play dough: Roll small balls and press them onto matching circles.
- Pom-poms: Cover the circles using fingers or tweezers.
- Buttons or mini counters: Match the colors and build the picture.
- Mini erasers: Place one small eraser on each large circle.
- Round stickers: Peel and stick matching colors onto the mat.
- Tissue paper: Scrunch small pieces into balls and glue them onto matching circles.
Choose materials that fit inside the circles and keep the small black dots uncovered. Use laminated mats or reusable pockets for loose materials and play dough, and unlaminated copies for stickers and gluing.
