CVC Word Slider Cards | Phoneme Blending

This unit contains 240 CVC Word Slider Cards designed to assist children in learning to read. The purpose of these cards is to discourage children from guessing words and, instead, encourage phonetic reading by sounding out each letter, blending them together, and then reading the whole word.

Features:

Directions for Use:

1. Print the cards you wish to use and laminate them for durability.
2. Cut along the dashed lines to separate the cards.
3. Cut the short end from one side of a letter-sized envelope.
4. Place up to 6 CVC word slider cards inside the envelope.
5. Children pull out the top card, sound out each letter as it appears, and then read the whole word.
6. They pull out the card further to reveal a picture to check whether they read the word correctly.
