The Kindergarten Morning Tubs Set 1 contains 20 activities ideal for use in morning tubs with children in Kindergarten.
 
To prepare the contents of this packet for use, laminate each printed page for durability and re-use and then cut along the dotted lines. The cards in this packet have been designed to be stored as sets on key rings and for that reason, each card has a hole-punching mark.
 
I have included photos in this packet showing how the activities in this packet can be used. You may print them and store them with the matching activity as a visual instruction card.
 
1. Pre-Writing Cards
Materials needed: erasable markers, chenille sticks, playdough, small manipulatives
Children will trace along the pre-writing lines. Alternatively, they will use the manipulatives supplied to create the lines.
 
2. Build It Upper Case Letter Cards
Materials needed: assorted building bricks (Lego), base block
Children will create the letter on the card using building bricks.
 
3. Upper Case Letter Recognition Cards
Materials needed: household pegs
Children will clip a peg on each letter that matches the first letter on the card.
 
4. Lower Case Letter Recognition Cards
Materials needed: household pegs
Children will clip a peg on each letter that matches the first letter on the card.
 
5. Letter Matching Cards: Upper Case Letters
Materials needed: small objects of varied colors (pom-poms, buttons, Lego, etc.)
Children will read the upper case letter on their card and then cover the matching letter on the board with the indicated colored manipulative.
 
6. Letter Matching Cards: Lower & Upper Case Letters
Materials needed: small objects of varied colors (pom-poms, buttons, Lego, etc.)
Children will read the lower case letter on their card and then cover the matching upper case letter on the board with the indicated colored manipulative.
 
7. Build the Sight Word
Materials needed: magnetic letters or letter tile, magnetic board (optional)
Children will use the magnetic letters to build the word on their card.
 
8. Sorting Letters, Numbers, Words
Children will sort the sandwich cards to the correct lunch box.
 
9. Logic Cards
Materials needed: household pegs
Children will identify with set was used to make the picture and clip a peg to show their answer.
 
10. Copy the Pattern
Materials needed: counting cubes or building bricks
Children will re-create the pattern shown on the card using counting cubes or building bricks.
 
11. Sorting Colors
Materials needed: small objects of varied colors (pom-poms, buttons, Lego, etc.)
Children will sort the provided objects to the matching colored gumball machine.
 
12. Color Identification Cards
Materials needed: household pegs
Children identify the colors they see on the card provided and clip a peg on the matching colors to show their answer.
 
13. Build It Number Cards
Materials needed: assorted building bricks (Lego), base block
Children will create the number on the card using building bricks.
 
14. Number Recognition Cards
Materials needed: household pegs
Children will clip a peg on each letter that matches the first letter on the card.
 
15. Number Matching Cards: Ten Frames
Materials needed: manipulatives of varied colors (pom-poms, buttons, Lego, etc.)
Children will determine the amount on their ten frame card and then cover the matching number on the board with the indicated colored manipulative.
 
16. Number Matching Cards: Number Words
Materials needed: manipulatives of varied colors (pom-poms, buttons, Lego, etc.)
Children will read the amount on their card and then cover the matching number on the board with the indicated colored manipulative.
 
17. Number Matching Cards: Counting Fingers
Materials needed: manipulatives of varied colors (pom-poms, buttons, Lego, etc.)
Children will determine the amount on their card and then cover the matching number on the board with the indicated colored manipulative.
 
18. Count and Build
Materials needed: counting cubes
Children will build cube towers to show the amount on each hopscotch space.
 
19. Roll a die and finish the picture (house and garden)
Materials needed: die, erasable marker
Children will roll a die and draw the item indicated to finish a picture.
 
20. Shape Recognition
Materials needed: household pegs
Children clip a peg on the matching shape.
