Literacy Worksheets:

  1. How many syllables? (2 pages)

    Children say the name of each picture and show how many syllables each word contains by coloring the correct circle. Dot paints can also be used for this worksheet.

  2. Heart missing letters (upper and lower case)

    Children write the missing alphabet letters to complete the sequence.

  3. Valentine beginning sounds (2 pages)

    Children determine the beginning sound for each word and color a circle to show their answer. Dot paints can also be used for this worksheet.

  4. Beginning “r” blends

    Children determine the beginning blend for each word and color a circle to show their answer. Dot paints can also be used for this worksheet.

  5. Word family flowers cut and paste (an, et, in, og, ug,)

    Children cut and paste the word family picture ornaments to the correct tree.

  6. Missing valentine vowels cut and paste

    Children cut and paste the vowels in the correct empty box to make CVC words.

  7. Valentine short vowels

    Children say the name for each picture in a given row, and then circle the ones that contain the sound of the short vowel identified in the first box.

  8. Valentine missing CVC words

    Children use the picture clues in the first box to work out what the sentence is about. They then complete each of the sentences on the page by selecting and writing the correct word on the lines.

Children trace the word on the page, build it using the letter tiles and then color the picture.

  17. Label It! pages (Cupid, teacher, painter)

    Children cut out the words from the bottom of the page and paste them in the correct rectangles to label each picture.

  18. Booklet with reading comprehension page (color & black and white)

    Select the color or black and white version and assemble the booklet by cutting each page in half and stapling together on the left side where indicated. Children read the short story and answer the comprehension questions by coloring the correct circle. Two comprehension pages have been included to help differentiate.

    Children write the correct number in the correct column to show how many tens and ones.

    This is a set of basic addition worksheets up to the sum of 10. Children can use the pictures to help them work out the equation, or you can provide them with a ten frame or another manipulative of your choice.
