Valentine’s Day Math Centers for Kindergarten Contents:
Valentine’s Day number-number word match clip cards (1-20)
Print, laminate and cut out the picture cards. Children will match the number and number word on the cards and to clip a clothes peg to show their answers. Alternatively, children can use dry-erase markers to colour the correct number.
Valentine’s Day number match (1-20)
To prepare the cards for use, print, laminate and cut out all the cards. Children will match the different number representations on the letters to the correct mailbox.
Valentine’s Day counting backwards write & wipe (from 20)
To prepare this write and wipe activity, print, laminate and cut out all the cards. You may like to make a hole in the top left hand corner of each card and secure all the cards together with a key ring, pipe cleaner or ribbon. Children will count backwards from the given number and write the missing numbers using a dry-erase marker.
Build a Valentine’s Day pattern (AB/ABB/AAB/ABC)
To prepare for use print and laminate all the pages. Children will build a pattern following the example from one of the cards. They then need to decide which picture goes in the empty square to complete the pattern
Valentine’s Day count, tally and graph write & wipe
To prepare this activity, print and laminate the cards. Children will count and represent their findings on the graph by colouring the appropriate number of squares with an erasable marker or crayon.
Valentine’s Day ten frame addition (to 20)
To prepare the activity for use, print, laminate and cut out all the cards and answer pieces. Children will work out the addition equation by placing different coloured tokens on the 10 frame mat provided.

To prepare the activity for use, print, laminate and cut out all the cards and answer pieces. Children will work out the subtraction equation using the 10 frame mat provided.
Valentine’s Day greater than, less than, equal to (numbers to 20)
To prepare this activity for use, print and laminate all the cards. Children will identify which number is greater, which is less or whether they are equal and to clip a peg to show their answers.
Valentine’s Day number puzzles (skip counting by 2s)
Print, laminate and cut the puzzles into pieces, storing each puzzle in a separate bag. Children will arrange the puzzle pieces in numerical order to reveal the picture.
Valentine’s Day 2D and 3D shape sorting
Print, laminate and cut out the pieces. Children will identify the shapes on the cards and sort them to the correct category.
Valentine’s Day analog-digital time match (hour)
Print, laminate and cut out the cards. Children will match the digital time to the card with the correct analog time.
