The Autumn / Fall Literacy Centers for Kindergarten offers a collection of 9 printable activities designed for use in centers and small groups with Kindergarten (Prep) children during the fall season.
Each activity includes a center label that can be printed and placed on your storage containers. “I can” instructions are provided to guide children through the activities, and a recording page is included with each activity to document each child’s progress.
Autumn / Fall Literacy Centers for Kindergarten Contents:
- Autumn / Fall Write & Wipe Alphabet:
Prepare the cards by printing, laminating, and cutting them apart. Children practice correct letter formation using a dry-erase marker. Cards can be secured with a key ring or pipe cleaner to create a book-like format. - Pumpkin Sorting Letters and Pre-Primer Sight Words:
Print, laminate, and cut out the pieces. Children sort different pumpkins into the correct baskets. - Autumn / Fall Tree Upper and Lower Case Clip It!:
Print, laminate, and cut the cards. Use household pegs or other small items to match upper case letters with lower case letters. Children record their answers on the provided sheet. - Missing Letters: Autumn / Fall Leaves:
Print, laminate, and cut apart the cards. Children identify and place the missing letter in the empty box. - Autumn / Fall Beginning Sounds Clip It!:
Print, laminate, and cut out the picture and letter cards. Children identify the beginning sound of each picture and clip a clothes peg to the correct letter, or use dry-erase markers to mark their answer. - Autumn / Fall Write the Room:
Print, laminate, and cut out the vocabulary cards, then place them around the room. Provide children with a clipboard and recording page to find and write the words next to the matching pictures. - Squirrel and Acorn Word Family Sort:
Print, laminate, and cut apart the sorting mats and word cards. Children identify the word endings and sort them into the correct word family mats. - Autumn / Fall Syllables Clip It!:
Print, laminate, and cut the cards. Use household pegs or small items to help children count and clip the number of syllables in each word. - Autumn / Fall Leaves Primer Sight Words:
Print, laminate, and cut the cards. Children spell primer sight words using the provided letters or with small magnetic or Scrabble letters.
