Directions for Use:

Here’s an overview of the activities included in this unit along with preparation and usage suggestions:

1. Fine Motor Practice Mats (5 mats)

   • Preparation: Print and laminate for durability. Provide small objects like pom-poms, gems, beads, or beans.
   • Activity: Children place a small object in each circle on the mat, enhancing fine motor skills.

2. Write and Wipe Pre-Writing Tracing Practice: Horizontal (8 pages)

   • Preparation: Print and laminate the pages.
   • Activity: Using a whiteboard (dry-erase) marker, children trace lines from top to bottom on the page, improving pre-writing skills.

3. Write and Wipe Pre-Writing Cards: Left to Right (15 cards)

   • Preparation: Print, laminate, and cut the cards apart. Secure together with a key ring or pipe cleaner.
   • Activity: Children trace lines from left to right with a whiteboard marker, practicing directional writing skills.

4. Alphabet Tracing Practice – Upper and Lower Case (32 mats)

   • Preparation: Print and laminate the pages.
   • Activity: Children trace letters using a whiteboard marker, following directional arrows to learn correct letter formation.

5. Upper and Lower Case Alphabet Paint Match (26 pages)

   • Preparation: Print, laminate, and cut out the pieces. Optionally, attach Velcro to each paint blot.
   • Activity: Children match upper and lower case letters to the correct paint palette, starting with a few letters and gradually adding more as they gain confidence.

6. Number Tracing Practice (1-10)

   • Preparation: Print and laminate the pages.
   • Activity: Children trace numbers with a whiteboard marker, using small objects to fill in the 10-frame and represent the number on the mat.

7. Crayon Number Match (1-10)

   • Preparation: Print, laminate, and cut out the pieces. Assemble the crayon box by cutting along the dashed lines and taping the sides and bottom.
   • Activity: Children match number representations to the correct crayon box, starting with a few numbers and adding more as they progress.

8. Shape Sorting – Triangle/Square/Rectangle/Circle (8 pages)

   • Preparation: Print, laminate, and cut out the pieces.
   • Activity: Children match everyday objects to the correct shape mat. Provide additional objects from home or classroom for sorting.

9. Color Sorting (23 pages):

   • Preparation: Print, laminate, and cut out the pieces.
   • Activity: Children match everyday objects to the correct color jar. Use additional objects from home or classroom for sorting.
