Letter and number sorting – cut and paste
Children cut the letters and number from the bottom of the page and paste them in the correct column.
How many words in a sentence?
Children read each sentence, count the number of words and write the answer in the space provided.
How many syllables?
Children say the name of each picture and show how many syllables each word contains by coloring the correct circle. Dot paints can also be used for this worksheet.
Same beginning sounds
Children say the name of the two pictures in each box and listen for the beginning sounds. If the pictures start with the same sound, they color the smiley face; if they don’t they color the sad face.
Same ending sounds
Children say the name of the two pictures in each box and listen for the ending sounds. If the pictures end with the same sound, they color the smiley face; if they don’t they color the sad face.
Rhyming cut and paste
Children say the name of the pictures in each box and find the rhyming match at the bottom of the page.
Lowercase to upper case ice cream match (4 pages)
Children cut the lowercase letters from the bottom of the page and paste them in the correct box to match them to the correct upper case cone.

Using the example provided, children trace the letters and the word and then write them in the empty sections on each line. They then need to find and color the circles containing the lowercase in focus. They then write the word on each page and color the circles that contain the lowercase letter in focus.
Beginning sounds cut and paste (2 pages)
Children cut the pictures from the bottom of the page and paste them over the correct letter to show their beginning sounds.
Beginning blends
Children determine the beginning blend for each word and color a circle to show their answer.
Beginning digraphs
Children determine the beginning digraph for each word and color a circle to show their answer.
Write the missing beginning sound
Children determine the beginning sound for each picture and write it on the line provided.

Mystery CVC word
Children start by writing the beginning sound for each of the pictures in one row. Once the row has been completed, they will have written a CVC word. Children read the mystery word, then, to demonstrate comprehension, they match it to the correct picture on the right side of the page.
Word families
Children write the words for each of the pictures on the page, using the word family at the beginning of each row to help them spell correctly.
Write the CVC words
Children say the name of the picture and write the sounds they hear.
CVC words cut and paste
Children cut the picture/letter tiles from the bottom of the page and paste them in order to spell a CVC word.
Long vowels
Children say the name of each picture in a given row, and then color the beach ball that contains the long vowel sound heard.
Mystery sight words cut and paste (8 pages)
Children being by tracing the sight words on the page. They then cut out the letter tiles from the bottom of the page and paste them in the spaces provided to spell each word. Once completed there will be some left over tiles. These need to be arranged until a sight word that rhymes with the word indicated at the top of the page is discovered. The word is to be written on the last line and the tiles pasted in the boxes next to it.
Missing sight words
Children use the picture clues in the first box to work out what the sentence is about. They then complete each of the sentences by writing the most suitable sight word from the top box on each line.
Summer alphabetical order
This page can be cut in half, or left as is. Children cut the four words on the right and paste them in alphabetical order over the numbers.
Reading comprehension
Children read a short story and answer the comprehension questions by coloring the correct circle.
Color words
Children read the sentences in each box and color the pictures accordingly.

Counting at the Beach booklet
Print the pages, cut them in half and staple together. Children trace the number on the page, find it among the other numbers in the box, then color the indicated number of objects.
Number and number words ice cream match
Children cut the number word scoops from the bottom of the page and paste them above the number cones to make a match.
Number maze: 1-31
Children count from 1 to 31, avoiding all the letters as they go through the maze. They can use dot paints to color in the numbered squares.
