Here’s a closer look at the pages included in this packet!
Winter: Fine Motor Skills Practice
The first set of pages in the Winter Preschool Worksheets & Activities packet focuses on cutting and tracing skills. Children will have fun cutting out snowflakes that can be used to make a mobile. Next, they will practice cutting zig-zag lines. After, they will have fun tracing the dotted lines to complete the pictures of a snowman and a penguin and to finish off this section, there are 4 easy winter themed mazes for them to work their way through.
Winter Preschool Worksheets: Literacy
We then move on to a series of literacy worksheets. The first of these focuses on letter tracing and upper and lower case letter matching.
Next, children will work on alphabet sequencing. I’ve included both upper and lower case letters for this. After that, children will work on beginning sounds with a set of cut and paste worksheets.
After these worksheets, I have included some word work pages. The first worksheets focuses on syllables. Children say the word, clap at each syllable and then circle the hand with the correct number. After that, children will practice reading CVC words and circle the word that matches the pictures on the snow globe. Moving on, children will have the opportunity to practice matching 40 sight words. Then they will color a picture by following the directions given on the page.
Children will then move on to reading sight words in context. First, they will identify how many words are in each sentence. Next, they will practice matching pictures to the correct sentence.
Children will continue to practice reading sight words in context with the emergent reader titled “Winter Fun.” The reader is available for you to print in color and B&W. I have also included 2 differentiated comprehension sheets: one with pictures to indicate which page children can find the answer and another without pictures. To finish off the literacy section, children will cut out 4 words and arrange them to make a complete sentence.
Winter Preschool Worksheets: Math
First in the math section is a positional words worksheet and then a set of number-word matching activity.
Next, children will work on their visual discrimination skills by identifying the picture in each row that is different. Next, they will identify the picture in each row that doesn’t belong.
After that, children will write the numbers 1-4 to show the order in which a snowman is built. Afterwards, are several cut and paste activities. The first requires children to sort the object by size. The second asks children to match the snowman and penguins by shape. The last asks children to count the amount or objects and match the correct number.
Next, children will work on number order with several worksheets that require children to either cut and paste the numbers in order or to write the missing numbers.
After that, I have included a count and graph activity for children to complete. Following that is a set of 3 worksheets for making patterns (AB, ABB, ABC).
Finally, I have included two addition with pictures worksheets and a sorting activity. For the sorting activity, children will cut out the objects and sort them to show whether they belong in the hot or cold categories.
