The Winter Literacy Worksheets for Kindergarten packet will have your students working on syllables, upper and lower case letter matching, beginning sounds, CVC words, word families, long and short vowels and sight words. They also have the opportunity to practice fixing errors in a sentence, reading a passage and answering questions to demonstrate comprehension , labeling pictures as well as learning winter themed vocabulary as they cut and paste to create a Build a Word booklet. Worksheets included in the Winter packet
First in this packet, you will find some worksheets that focus on syllables. Next, is a series of capital to lower case letter matching.
Then, children will work on beginning sounds. A worksheet for identifying beginning blends is also included.
Next, are a couple of CVC words worksheets.
There is then another sound identifying page. This time, students will listen to the sound on the snowflake and identify the position it is heard within a word. After that, I have included 5 cut and paste word family word work pages. Children simply match the words on the marshmallow to the correct word family mug.
Further along in the Winter Literacy Worksheets for Kindergarten packet, you will find a CVC worksheet that requires children to write the complete word. After that, students will work on sorting short and long vowel words.
Students will the practice reading sight words. I have included several types of worksheets for differentiation purposes.
I have included a sentence fixing page as well as a reading comprehension page.
Then there are some labelling cut and paste worksheets. After that, is a coloring by code page (not pictured). Last, in the packet I have included a Build a Word booklet for your children to practice winter themed words.
